Laptop atau komputer yang baru anda beli dan baru anda install ulang OS nya sering terjadi hang atau lemot?? Dan kalau dilihat di Task Manager (Ctrl + Alt + Delete) menunjukkan bahwa memory, Disk dan Network mencapai antara 80 sampai 100% padahal kalau di total dari data yang ada tidak sampai mencapai jumlah segitu besar penggunannya. Ini disebut pool leak. Ada beberapa cara mengatasi hal ini antara lain mendisable atau menonaktifkan super fetch dan windows search. Caranya sebagai berikut:

CARA MENGURANGI MEMORY USAGE

DISABLE SUPER FETCH

1. Tekan Windows + R secara bersamaan.
2. Ada kotak, tulis di situ: 'services.msc' [tanpa tanda petik]
3. Cari "Super Fetch"
4. Klik Kanan -> Properties -> General
5. Pada Startup type -> klik Disable.
6. Klik Apply dan OK.

DISABLE WINDOWS SEARCH

1. Tekan Windows + R secara bersamaan.
2. Ada kotak, tulis di situ: 'services.msc' [tanpa tanda petik]
3. Cari "Windows Search"
4. Klik Kanan -> Properties -> General
5. Pada Startup type -> klik Disable.
6. Klik Apply dan OK.

Atau dengan cara menggunakan command prompt

1) Tekan tombol Windows + X + A

2) ketikkan "net.exe stop Superfetch", tekan Enter

3) ketikkan "net.exe stop "Windows Search"", tekan Enter

Setelah itu, coba cek lagi Task Manager, apakah masih tetap tinggi memory-nya atau sudah turun. Kalau sudah turun berarti selamat. Kalau masih tinggi, kemungkinan ada gangguan di tempat lain lagi. Antara lain disable NDU-nya dengan mencari merubah nilainya menjadi 4 (asalnya 2). Caranya lihat di sini.

CARA DISABLE NDU

1. Launch the Regedit program. Click kanan on the "Start" button,

2. and then click on "Run." In the dialog box that appears, type "regedit" into the text box, and then click the "OK" button.

3. Click HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -> SYSTEM -> ControlSet001 -> Services -> Ndu

4. Change the Start value to 4 (for disable).

CARA MENGURANGI DISK USAGE

DISK USAGE 100^%
Solution: Disable BITS atau Background Intelligent Transfer Services.
Lokasi: at Task Manager > Services > Open Services >
Intelligent Transfer Services.

CARA DISABLE BITS

1. Tekan CTRL + ALT + DELETE -> klik Task Manager
2. Klik Services -> Open Services ->
3. Pilih BITS Background Intelligent Transfer Services
4. Klik icon Stop

Untuk disable: klik kanan BITS -> Properties -> Start up type -> pilih-> disable.

Juga, setting Windows update menjadi manual.

CATATAN: Kalau cara-cara di atas tidak berhasil juga dalam arti CPU, MEMORY, DISK naik tinggi, maka berikut tips lain yang bisa dicoba. Dikutip dari beberapa forum:
1. Go to your 'System Properties'
[Keep in mind what your Installed Memory (RAM) is]
2. On the LEFT side of your systems Properties go to 'Advance System Settings'. A small new window should pop up.
3. On the 'Advance' tab, there is an area that says 'Performance' along with two other ones, User Profiles and Startup and Recovery . CLICK on the 'Settings' button that's in Performance.
4. Again a new window will pop up. In the 'Advance' Tab where Virtual Memory is at CLICK the 'Change' button.
5. Again, a new window will pop up. UN-CHECK Automatically manage paging files size for all drives
6. In that same window, click 'Custom size'
7. Remember when the RAM on your Systems Properties? This is where we will convert the GB to MB in Initial Size and Maximum Size.
So say you have 4 GB of RAM. You want to do 4 * 1024 = 4096.
You wan to type in 4096 for your 'Initial Size'
For your Maximum Size you only have to double Initial Size. So it's 4096 * 2 = 8192
8. Click 'Set' then the Window closes
9. Click 'Apply' then 'Ok'
10. It will ask you to restart your computer.

I have this issue too. I solved it by performing these steps:
1. On windows 8.1 go to Charms -> Search. Enter "Schedule tasks"
2. In the Task Scheduler window in the left hand pane expand "Task Scheduler Library" and go to Microsoft > Windows > Application Experience
3. There should be 4 entries. The offender that causes the high CPU usage is "ProgramDataUpdater". You could disable it as some have recommended, however I opted to configure the task to kill it self if it runs for more than 1 minute:
a. Right click on "ProgramDataUpdater" and go to properties.
b. Go to the Settings tab. Ensure that the box next to "Stop the task if it runs longer than." is ticked (checked).
c. In the drop down selection box, simply type in "1 minute" (or other time limit). Then click OK.
I did this a few days ago and haven't experienced this issue since. I'm thinking about pushing it to 2 minutes to see what happens.
